About Fox Trail Knives

We’re Chris and Tami — the team behind Fox Trail Craftworks. What began as Chris’s lifelong passion for bladesmithing has grown into a way for us to tell stories through handmade knives.

Chris learned the fundamentals at Randall Made Knives and spent years honing his own style — moving from stock removal into forging Damascus, San Mai, and everyday carry blades that bridge artistry and function.

Custom knife made from O‑1 tool steel with handle crafted from Cub Scout uniform micarta, featuring inlaid button as bow‑drill hand socket for primitive fire making. Unique piece blending scouting heritage with functional survival design.

I (Tami) was drawn to his work because of the stories hidden in each piece. One
of the first knives that caught my eye was a custom blade made from a Cub Scout
uniform — the fabric pressed into micarta and a button inlaid as a bow‑drill
socket. It wasn’t just a knife; it was a memory you could hold.

Close‑up of raindrop Damascus blade made from fire sprinkler pipe jacketed around 1095 steel, showing striking darkened edge contrast. Handle crafted from repurposed fire hose in micarta style, highlighting unique fire protection materials.

That moment sparked our approach: knives built from meaningful materials, designed to carry personal history. From raindrop Damascus forged with fire sprinkler pipe to heirloom Go Mai blades symbolizing generations of a family business, every piece blends craft and story.

Gift basket created for FFSA’s Buddy Dewar Tournament raffle featuring Fox Trail Craftworks fire protection products — white string lights, building block burn trailer with truck, upright sprinkler night light, and a hand‑forged knife with fire hose micarta‑style handle.

While knives are our core, we’ve expanded into 3D printing and electroforming, creating everything from fire sprinkler novelties to custom car emblems — but every project starts with the same purpose: making something that matters.
