About Us
Hi, we’re Chris and Tami — the team behind Fox Trail Craftworks. What started as Chris’s lifelong passion for bladesmithing has grown into a space where we combine traditional craftsmanship, meaningful materials, and creative storytelling to make knives and fire‑protection‑inspired pieces that feel truly one‑of‑a‑kind.
Chris’s journey began decades ago at Randall Made Knives, a world‑renowned shop where he learned the fundamentals of knifemaking — grinding, shaping, forging, and finishing. Over the years, he’s taken those skills and developed his own style, moving from stock removal into forging Damascus, San‑Mai, and everyday carry blades that bridge artistry and function.(You can read his full story here: Meet Our Bladesmith)
Tami came to Florida from Michigan to pursue teaching, but after a decade in education, she found her way into the fire protection industry — where she's spent the past 10 years. She's always loved creating and repurposing materials, and working in fire protection has given her even more opportunities to weave meaningful elements — like fire hose or sprinkler pipe — into our designs. Beyond knives, she loves dreaming up new concepts — and then rolling up her sleeves to bring them to life, whether that means painting murals, refinishing furniture, or turning everyday materials into something personal and new.
Together, we’ve expanded our craft into 3D printing and electroplating, opening doors to unique projects like fire sprinkler novelties and custom car emblems (our first was inspired by Tami's dad's MGA). Whether it’s a meaningful gift, a custom commission, or something completely unexpected, every piece we create blends craft, story, and purpose.
